After reading books that encouraged the girls to create and build we showed the girls the blueprints of the Abston Center. They wanted to recreate this space in the Maker's Station. We have been working on this project for several weeks and is yet to be completed. (typical of most construction projects!!) As we walk back and forth to our special classes we take closer looks at the building and it is amazing what the girls observe. Here are some of the things they feel we should incorporate in our Abston Center:
-Ms. Janie's office
-Ms. Jordan's office
-My sister's room
-The nursery (it needs curtains so the babies can sleep)
We can hardly wait for our building to be complete. When I asked the girls what the last thing we have to do after we put it all together they replied:
-Put all the decorations in
-Put the roof on
We all have different opinions but the girls are doing a great job working on this collaborative project! We will keep you posted on our progress!!!
I have been a teacher at Hutchison for 28 years. This is my 6th year as a teacher in the Little Hive. It is so fun watching these girls grow and love to learn.
